The central government is reportedly planning to amend the Electricity Act, 2003, to expedite the process of setting up of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. Currently, only distribution utilities can sell power for EV charging stations. To this end, two committees have been formed to look at the policy-based issues and technical specifications related to the subject.
