Losses of states under UDAY witness 28.4 per cent decline in 2016-17

As per the Ministry of Power, the aggregate net losses of states participating in the Ujwal Discom Assurance Yojana declined by 28.4 per cent from Rs 515.9 billion in 2015-16 to Rs 369.05 billion in 2016-17. Further, the states have achieved an improvement of 1 per cent in the aggregate technical and commercial losses and a reduction of Re 0.17 per unit in the gap between the average revenue realised and the average cost of supply during the same period.
