NLC commissions 130 MW solar plant in Tamil Nadu

NLC India Limited has commissioned a 130 MW solar power plant at the 33/110 kV pooling substation in Neyveli, Tamil Nadu. The plant consists of two units of 65 MW each and is spread across four different locations within Neyveli. Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) was entrusted with the responsibility of executing the first 65 MW block by deploying indigenous solar modules, while the second block was executed by Jakson Engineers Private Limited. The plant uses polycrystalline PV solar technology and is expected to generate 216.37 MUs per annum, all of which will be supplied to Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited at a tariff of Rs 5.10 per unit.
