NTPC commissions 800 MW Unit-II of Kudgi TPP in Karnataka

NTPC Limited has commissioned the second 800 MW unit of the Kudgi coal-based power station in Karnataka. Being the host state, Karnataka will receive 400 MW power while the remaining power will be shared among other southern states like Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. This is NTPC’s first project in Karnataka that is based on supercritical technology. The work on the third unit of the project is in the advanced stages and is likely to be completed by June 2018.
