Qatar’s KAHRAMAA commissions 32 substations during 2017

The Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA) has commissioned 32 new substations and connected them to the transmission network. It has also commissioned 60 terrestrial cables and high voltage overhead lines, raising the capacity of the network to meet the increasing demand for energy in line with the development of state projects in all fields. Under its $2.27 billion Qatar Power Transmission System Expansion Plan Phase 13, the company awarded several station and cable contracts for projects to be executed in various regions of the country. Also, a 100 km long cable, the longest submarine cable in the Gulf,  was inaugurated to feed Halul Island.
