Sterlite Power has received a transmission project contract worth $800 million in Brazil. The project entails building and operating about 1,800 km of transmission lines running through Brazil’s northern states of Para and Tocantins. The project is a part of the second round of transmission project auctions conducted by the Brazilian government. Sterlite had won two transmission projects in the first round of auctions in April 2017. With the current order, Sterlite’s portfolio in Brazil stands at an aggregate value of $1 billion.
