TANGEDCO outlines power capacity expansion plan

Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Company Limited (TANGEDCO) is planning to set up 125 power substations in the state. The utility has already commenced the task of identifying suitable spots for establishing these power substations. To this end, the foundation stone for the 110/22 kV substation was laid in Uppilipalayam village, Tamil Nadu. Further, in order to augment the power generation capacity in the state, TANGEDCO has signed an MoU with BHEL for the setting up of a 1,320 MW coal-based power project in Udangudi.
