Torrent Power Limited has sought a tariff hike of Re 0.25 per unit for the Ahmedabad area of Gujarat. Besides, it has also proposed to levy a regulatory charge of Re 0.20 per unit in Surat. The company has filed its petitions with the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission for tariff determination for 2018-19. The proposal for increase in power tariff has been made to recover the past under-recoveries which have been estimated at Rs 3.9 billion and Rs 0.67 billion in Ahmedabad and Surat respectively.
