ZESCO awards $14 million substation contract to China’s SEPCO

The Zambia Electricity Supply Corporation has awarded a $13.93 million contract to Chinese power generation and transmission infrastructure utility Shandong Electric Power Construction Corporation (SEPCO) for implementing a $13.93 million contract associated with the Lusaka Transmission and Distribution Rehabilitation Project (LTDRP). SEPCO’s scope of work involves the construction of the 132/11 kV Chilanga substation, which is funded by the European Investment Bank. The LTDRP aims to reinforce and upgrade the power transmission and distribution infrastructure in the Lusaka area to improve the quality of power in the region.
