The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) commissioned the 132/11 kV mobility substation in January 2018, which has a transformer capacity of 150 MVA. The construction of the AED 173 million substation commenced in July 2015. Of the total cost, AED 80 million was allocated for the plant and AED 93.6 million for the 132 kV cables. Apart from mobility, DEWA is constructing two more 132/11 kV substations at a cost of AED 142 million and AED 103 million, respectively. The substations are expected to be operational by March 2018.
