NTPC withdraws from Pavagada Solar Park in Karnataka

NTPC has withdrawn from the 2,000 MW Pavagada Solar Park project being set up in Tumakuru district,  Karnataka. As per the agreement, NTPC was supposed to purchase 600 MW from six developers at Rs 4.80 per unit and supply power to state electricity distribution companies in Karnataka at a bundled tariff of Rs 3.30 per unit. However, NTPC said that it will not be able to supply electricity at the agreed tariff of Rs 3.30 per unit. The state government will now issue a fresh tender for the project.
