BESCOM to set up 11 EV charging stations

Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) plans to set up 11 fast-charging stations for electric vehicles in the city. The first such station is expected to be set up at BESCOM’s office in K.R. Circle in February 2018. BESCOM has proposed a time-of-day tariff under which motorists will be charged Rs 4.50 per unit during the day and Rs 4 per unit at night. However, the tariffs for using these charging stations are yet to be finalised by the Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission.
