The Ministry of Coal has been allocated funds aggregating Rs 7.7 billion in the Union Budget 2018, an increase of 3.35 per cent over the Rs 7.45 billion allocated in the previous budget. Meanwhile, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has been allocated Rs 51.46 billion worth of funds, registering a decline of 5.95 per cent. Besides, Rs 139.71 billion has been earmarked for the Department of Atomic Energy, an increase of 12.11 per cent over the Rs 124.61 billion allocated in 2017-18.
