The Beijing-based Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has agreed to provide a loan of up to $60 million for a 220 MW CCPP in Barisal district, Bangladesh. The CCPP is a greenfield project, which will increase the power generation capacity in Bangladesh and help address power shortage in the country. Once complete, it will increase power generation by around 1,300 GWh annually.
