APSCL signs EPC contract with a Chinese consortium

State-owned Ashuganj Power Station Company Limited (APSCL) has signed an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract with a Chinese consortium for the installation of a 420 MW CCPP in Bangladesh. Under the contract, the two companies, namely, the China National Technical Import and Export Corporation and the China National Corporation for Overseas Economic Cooperation, will supply and construct the CCPP on APSCL’s premises, at a contract value of $177.76 million. The project will be financed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Islamic Development Bank and APSCL. It is expected to be completed by April 2021.
