DEWA begins construction for the 700 MW CSP plant in UAE

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has started construction of the 700 MW concentrated solar power (CSP) plant in the United Arab Emirates. The project, which is one of the largest CSP projects in the world, is being developed in partnership with a consortium comprising ACWA Power and Shanghai Electric. The project forms Phase 4 of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park in Dubai, which is expected to generate 5,000 MW by 2030. The CSP project is designed to provide power to more than 270,000 households in Dubai and is expected to reduce 1.4 million tonnes of carbon emissions annually.
