State-owned Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) has awarded a Euro 1.24 billion EPC contract to Elsewedy Electric T&D for the construction of a 500 kV substation. Elsewedy is expected to complete the construction of the substation by end-2018. EETC had also awarded a Euro 3.6 billion contract to the company for construction of a 225 km long, 500 kV transmission line connecting Borg El Arab and Marsa Matrouh. Elsewedy is expected to commission the 500 kV line within six months from the start of construction.
