BHEL secures order from PVUNL for setting up the 2,400 MW Patratu plant in Jharkhand

BHEL has secured an order of Rs 117 billion from Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (PVUNL), a JV of NTPC and Jharkhand Bijli Utpadan Nigam Limited to set up the 2,400 MW Patratu supercritical power plant in Ramgarh district, Jharkhand. Notably, this is the single largest order ever placed by NTPC or its subsidiaries and the second largest order ever won by BHEL. The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract will also lead to the phasing out of the old fleet of subcritical units currently installed at Patratu.
