DERC notifies retail power supply tariff schedule for 2018-19

The Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) has reduced electricity tariffs by up to 32 per cent across all consumer categories for 2018-19. The commission has reduced prices for domestic power consumption of up to 200 units per month by Re 1 and the new tariff now stands at Rs 3 per unit. Further, consumption between 401-800 units per month will be charged at Rs 6.50 per unit compared to Rs 7.30 per unit charged previously. With the revised tariffs, BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL), BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL) and Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL) are expected to earn revenues of Rs 91.61 billion, Rs 50.13 billion and Rs 68.03 billion respectively.
