Egypt transco awards $40.37 million contract to EGEMAC-led consortium

The Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company has awarded a contract worth $40.37 million to the Egyptian German Electrical Manufacturing Company (EGEMAC)-led consortium for setting up a 500/220/66/11 kV transformer station in Naga Hammadi. The consortium comprises XD-EGEMAC, which is a joint venture (JV) between China’s XD Group, the Xian Electric Engineering Company and EGEMAC. The aim of constructing this transformer station is to meet the expected load increase and strengthen networks in the Upper Egypt region as per the Ministry of Electricity’s plan. The turnkey contract will be executed in 12 months.
