Nepal’s Peoples Energy signs MoU with China’s CWTW for a 48.8 MW hydro plant

Nepal-based Peoples Energy Limited has signed an MoU with China-based Chongqing Water Turbine Works Company Limited (CWTW) to develop the 48.8 MW Khimti II hydropower project on KhimtiKhola River in Nepal. This is the first project in Nepal being developed under the EPC and financing model and will receive a funding of $88 million from CWTW. The project is expected to be commissioned in July 2021.
