NTPC plans to exit the JV with BHEL

NTPC Limited has decided to exit the 50:50 joint venture with Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) – NTPC-BHEL Power Projects Limited. The JV was formed in 2007 for manufacturing power equipment and commenced operations at a facility in Andhra Pardesh in 2016. In a seperate development, NTPC has commissioned the first 660 MW unit of the 1,320 MW Meja TPS in Uttar Pradesh, the first 800 MW unit of the 1,600 MW Lara super thermal power plant (TPS)  in Chhattisgarh, and the third 800 MW unit of the 2,400 MW Kudgi STPS in Karnataka.With this, the total capacity of the NTPC group stands at 53,651 MW.
