Siemens-Harbin Electric JV sign $562 million EPC contract for coal-based project in Pakistan

A JV between Siemens and Chinese Harbin Electric International (HEI) has signed a $562 million EPC contract with Jamshoro Power Company Limited for setting up the first 660 MW unit of the 1,320 MW Jamshoro coal-fired power plant in Pakistan. The 660 MW unit is being funded by the Asian Development Bank and will be executed by Genco Holding Company Limited. The project is likely to be completed by end-2021.
