MoP launches pilot scheme for procuring 2,500 MW from TPPs without PPAs

The Ministry of Power (MoP)has introduced a pilot scheme to procure 2,500 MW of power from plants without power purchase agreements (PPAs). PTC India Limited would sign three-year PPAs with successful bidders and enter into contracts with discoms to sell electricity. As per the plan, the entity which matches the lowest bid in the auction would be allocated a maximum capacity of 600 MW. The competitive bidding of the pilot scheme will be conducted by PFC Consulting Limited.
