ExxonMobil offers a wide range of wind turbine lubricants for enhanced productivity

ExxonMobil™ offers a range of wind turbine lubricants that can last long and offer excellent oxidation and shear stability while protecting key turbine components such as gears from micro pitting and main bearings from failure, which can optimise wind turbine performance and reduce unscheduled downtime. For gearboxes, the Mobil SHC™ Gear 320 WT is the most preferred advanced wind turbine gear lubricant, operating under extreme conditions. It optimises protection and reduces unplanned maintenance, and has also been awarded a conformity statement by DNV GL. Another product, the Mobil SHC™ Grease 460 WT, provides a compelling choice of synthetic grease for lubrication of the main, pitch and yaw bearings due to its excellent low and high temperature performance, structural stability, excellent false brinelling and wear protection, and rust and corrosion inhibition. ExxonMobil’s Mobil ServSM Lubricant Analysis, a mobile-enabled used oil analysis service, offers application-specific analysis options including gearbox, engine, compressor, powertrain, among others. By employing an oil analysis programme in a condition-based maintenance regime, the synthetic oil lubricant life can be extended beyond five years. The selection of high performance lubricants, however, needs to be supported by routine and scheduled maintenance. By introducing technologically advanced synthetic lubricants alongside an effective oil equipment condition monitoring programme, wind farm operators can look to reduce costs and maximise the productivity.
