Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL) has announced the appointment of Sanjay Banga as the company’s new chief executive officer (CEO). He takes over from Praveer Sinha, who now serves as CEO and managing director of the Tata Power Group. Banga has been with the company since July 2003 and was part of the founding team that transformed the ailing distribution company into a benchmark utility. Earlier, he was serving as vice-president, power management, contracts and business development. He has over three decades of experience in the power sector and has worked on designing, project engineering, operations and commissioning of super thermal power projects. He has also worked extensively on technology integration for ushering in sectoral reforms. Banga started his career with NTPC. He is also a part of the board of directors of Tata Power Ajmer Distribution Limited, a distribution franchise of Tata Power. Banga is an alumnus of the National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra and has an MBA from FMS, Delhi.
