Voith announces the expansion of its factory at Vadodara

Voith Hydro Private Limited India has announced the expansion of its Vadodara factory. The company has invested in manufacturing hydropower equipment at the factory since 2010. The plant has already supplied hydropower equipment across the world, including the Americas, Western Europe, Japan, Southeast Asia and Africa, in compliance with the international quality norms. During the inauguration, Dr Tobias Keitel, Executive Vice-President, Operations and Member of Board of Management of Voith Hydro Holding GmbH & Co. KG, reinforced the commitment to invest further in line with the Make in India initiative. Further, adding to this, Ravi Kalra, MD and CEO of Voith Hydro India, highlighted how the transfer of technology from Germany has helped the Indian company to build the most modern hydropower equipment locally and develop necessary skills, thus bringing down the manufacturing costs as per customer expectations. The new facility was inaugurated on April 26, 2018, in the presence of other senior members of Voith and its sub-suppliers. With its highly skilled and experienced manpower as well as the state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, Voith Hydro is fully equipped to cater to the supply and service needs of new hydropower plants, as well as retrofitting and upgrading the existing fleet in the region. With a long history of successful operations in India, Voith has been expanding its footprint in the subcontinent since 1911, and now has a significant presence in India and the adjoining regions of Nepal, Bhutan and Southeast Asia.
