Swiss technology firm ABB has secured a contract to supply its compact gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) to Indonesia’s state-owned power utility PLN. As per the agreement, ABB will design, supply and commission 150 kV GIS for 10 substations in Greater Jakarta, West Java, East Java and Sulawesi. The GIS technology will allow PLN to prevent power outages and provide greater power reliability in the country.
