Abengoa SA wins a $650 million contract for a CSP project in Dubai

Spanish engineering and renewable energy company Abengoa SA has received a $650 million contract from Shanghai Electric Group Company Limited for a concentrated solar power (CSP) project in Dubai. The project is part of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority’s (DEWA) Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum solar power complex Phase IV, which will consist of a 100 MW plant based on central tower CSP technology and three 200 MW plants based on parabolic trough CSP technology. Under the contract, Abengoa will be responsible for technology and construction of solar fields for the three parabolic trough plants, which will feature 12 hours of molten salt storage.
