BDBP forms a JV with CHDHK for 1,320 MW plant in Bangladesh

The Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) has entered into a joint venture (JV) agreement with China Huadian Hong Kong Company Limited for construction of a 1,320 MW coal-fired power plant in Cox’s Bazar district, Bangladesh. The project entails an estimated cost of $2 billion. Under the agreement, both the parties will hold equal share in the JV. The project is likely to be completed by 2022.
