Bhikki CCPP commences commercial operations in Pakistan

Quaid-e-Azam Thermal Power Limited (QAPTL), Harbin Electric International Company Limited (HEI) and GE Power have commenced and jointly completed commercial operations of the 1,180 MW Bhikki combined cycle power plant (CCPP) in Pakistan. The plant is owned by QAPTL and HEI is the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor for the project, responsible for setting up the plant and all commissioning activities. Meanwhile, GE has delivered two advanced heavyduty gas turbines, associated equipment and technical advisory services for the plant. The plant has a designed life of 30 years and is expected to meet the energy requirements of 2.4 million households in Pakistan.
