Ducab HV, a JV of cable manufacturing company Dubai Cable Company, DEWA and the Department of Energy in Abu Dhabi, has commissioned the country’s first 400 kV cable circuit two months ahead of schedule. The circuit uses cable manufactured in the Gulf Cooperation Council, and is associated with the Taweelah B power station in Abu Dhabi, owned by the Taweelah Asia Power Company (Tapco). The circuit is a critical component that will enable Tapco to provide secure electricity supply for the UAE, and operates at the highest voltage utilised within the region.
