Sumitomo Electric Industries Limited has received a supply order for power transmission and transformation equipment for the 122 MW Tsugaru wind project in Japan. As per the contract, Sumitomo Electric will be responsible for the design, production and installation of electric equipment like underground power transmission and distribution lines and substation equipment. The plant, which is being developed by the Green Power Investment Corporation, will be equipped with 38 wind turbines and will be the largest wind farm in Japan upon its completion.
