ABB powers manufacturing campus in India using battery-based microgrid and solar energy

ABB has installed an Ability™ based microgrid solution to power its High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) factory in Vadodara, India with clean energy, while ensuring safe and reliable power supply. The containerized, plug and play solution uses battery energy storage and advanced stabilization technology to integrate solar power generated by a 14,000 m² photovoltaic (PV) field on the factory’s roof, into the electrical grid. The growing facility is one of the company’s biggest manufacturing locations in the world with over 3,000 employees.
