BHEL secures Rs 44 billion order from UPRVUNL

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has secured a Rs 44 billion order for setting up a 660 MW supercritical thermal power plant in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The order has been awarded by Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited and will be executed on an EPC basis. In a separate development, BHEL has also secured a Rs 5.36 billion order from SJVN Limited for implementing the 900 MW Arun-3 HEP in Sankhuwasabha district in Nepal. The scope of work entails design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, erection and commissioning of electromechanical equipment, including four vertical 225 MW francis turbine and generator sets, at the hydropower plant.
