CERC issues procedure for LTA/MTOA grant to renewable energy projects

The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has issued a detailed procedure for grant of long-and medium-term transmission access to renewable energy projects that have acquired at least half of the land that is required and achieved financial closure. Further, the commission has raised the bank guarantee for granting grid connectivity. These guidelines aim to resolve the issues of “squatting” and underutilisation of transmission lines by non-serious applicants, and will streamline the process for applying for connectivity.
