MNRE notifies the National Wind-Solar Hybrid Policy

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has notified the National Wind-Solar Hybrid Policy, which seeks to encourage new projects as well as the hybridisation of the existing ones. The key objective of the policy is to provide a framework for the promotion of large grid-connected, wind-solar photovoltaic (PV) hybrid systems for optimal and efficienct utilisation of transmission infrastructure and land, which would, in turn, help achieve better grid stability. The policy provides for the procurement of power from a hybrid project through a tariff-based transparent bidding process and also mandates the regulatory authorities to formulate the necessary standards and regulations for the same.
