Power minister lays foundation stone for underground cabling project in Haridwar

The power minister has laid the foundation stone for the underground cabling project at Kumbh in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. The project, which will be implemented under the Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS), will result in reduced electricity losses and also aid the widening of roads by removing the overhead electric poles. The project is to be completed in two years. The initial grant for the project under the IPDS is Rs 4 billion.
