Union government announces measures to expand EV charging infrastructure

The union government has proposed to set up charging stations for electric vehicles (EVs) at every 3 km in cities and every 50 km on national highways. Further, the government is expected to offer fiscal incentives and facilitate land approvals from municipal authorities for companies interested in setting up infrastructure. The proposed expansion of charging infrastructure is expected to boost the proliferation of EVs in the country.
