Nabha Power shuts down units due to coal shortage

Nabha Power Limited, a part of the L&T Group, has shutdown the second 700 MW unit of the 1,400 MW Rajpura TPP in Punjab owing to coal paucity. Previously, the first unit of the plant was shut down from April 4-13, 2018, due to coal shortage. Reportedly, the present crisis has been triggered by a disruption in the supply of coal rakes to the plant. Lately, the plant has been receiving one to two rakes per day, compared to the four rakes from earlier.
