NTPC Limited has signed an agreement with the Noida Authority to use treated sewage water for its Dadri thermal power plant (TPP) located near Delhi-NCR. As per the agreement, the authority will supply 80 million litres of treated sewage water per day to the plant. This project is expected to be completed in the next three years. The 490 MW unit of the plant was recently synchronised after it was closed earlier due to technical difficulties and coal shortage. Besides, an integrated solar-thermal hybrid plant is under installation at the Dadri TPP. This plant is a research and development initiative by NETRA, NTPC’s research wing.
