Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL) has awarded 250 MW of solar projects each to the Fortum Corporation and Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), which will be developed in the Pavagada solar park in Tumkur district. The projects were re-tendered by KREDL in April 2018 for an aggregate capacity of 650 MW. The winning bidders quoted a tariff of Rs 2.85 per kWh for the capacity. Meanwhile, the decision on the remaining 150 MW of capacity will be taken by the state government.
