Schneider and Jesuits launch electricity training programmes in the Democratic Republic of Congo

Schneider Electric and the Jesuits will launch two electricity training programmes for underprivileged people in Lubumbashi, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The programme aims to train around 500 electricians by 2020, of which 80 per cent will come from underprivileged families. The Building Electricity Program is a one-year locally recognised vocational certificate course. Meanwhile, the Solar Energy Program will last four months and receive 80 students every year, including those that have completed the Building Electricity programme.
