The Delhi government has approved a new solar scheme, Mukhyamantri Kisan Aaye Badhotri Solar Yojana, for farmers in Delhi. As per the scheme, a maximum of a one-third surface area of the agricultural land can be used for the installation of solar panels. The Delhi government departments will purchase power at Rs 4 per unit from entities participating in the scheme. The scheme is scheduled to start in nine months and so far, five solar companies have expressed interest in the same.
