The CERC has notified a discussion paper titled “Re-Designing Ancillary Services Mechanism in India”. The paper attempts to assess the performance of the current framework of frequency support and balancing ancillary services mechanism in India and to suggest next-generation reforms by way of introduction of auction-based procurement of ancillary services. The CERC has sought comments and suggestions on the paper by October 10, 2018.
