Jharkhand plans to roll out  DBT for power subsidies

Jharkhand is likely to be the country’s first state to roll out a pilot DBT scheme for power subsidy. Under the DBT scheme, the subsidy amount against power consumption will be directly credited to consumers’ accounts. The Jharkhand State Electricity Regulatory Commission is planning to roll out the scheme in the Jamshedpur Utility and Services Company’s licensed area as it has a strong database of consumers. It will be replicated in other parts of the states, if successful.
