Sembcorp Gayatri wins tender to supply power to Bangladesh

Sembcorp Gayatri Power Limited (SGPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Sembcorp Energy India Limited (SEIL), has won a competitive tender to supply 250 MW power to Bangladesh over a period of 15 years. The Bangladesh Power Development Board has issued a letter of intent to SGPL and power supply will commence after the receipt of regulatory approvals. In addition, the Sembcorp Group is part of a consortium which is constructing the 426 MW Sirajganj Unit IV combined cycle power project in Bangladesh. This project is targeted to begin open cycle operations later this year and achieve full commercial operations in 2019.
