Spanish firm Acciona is planning to develop the 157.5 MW Mortlake South wind farm in Victoria, Australia. Acciona is expected to invest $204.44 million in the farm. The wind farm is expected to generate the clean energy to cater to almost 80,000 Australian households and avoid the emission of over 532,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere each year. Mortlake South will also have a scalable battery energy storage system to facilitate performance and integration into the electricity grid. The construction is scheduled to begin in early 2019, with completion expected in mid-2020.
