The China Huaneng Group, a state-owned electric utility, has commissioned eight units of the 400 MW San River Secondary Hydropower Station in Cambodia. The station consists of eight bulb tubular turbine generator sets. The project is based on a build-operate-transfer model. It accounts for over one-fifth of the total installed capacity in the country and is expected to ease Cambodia’s power supply shortage. The construction of the facility started in late 2013.
