Uttar Pradesh districts introduces new scheme to reduce line losses

The Uttar Pradesh government has introduced a plan to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply as an incentive for districts with less than 15 per cent line losses. An account of power supply will be maintained at every substation and feeders registering high line losses will be identified across all the districts of the state. Further, punitive action will be taken against officers responsible for high line losses. The plan will facilitate the provision of round-the-clock power supply to all the districts by 2034.
